PATHWAYS THAT LEAD TO PEACE!
Posted by Doug on July 10, 2009
The path of knowledge (Gyana Yoga) has the flavor of mystery. You sense the inexplicability of life. You experience the wonder inside every experience. The path of devotion (Bhakti Yoga) has the flavor of love. You experience sweetness inside every experience. The path of action (Karma Yoga) has the flavor of selflessness. You experience the correctedness of every experience. The path of meditation and inner silence (Raj Yoga) has the flavor of stillness. You experience the being inside every experience. From Deepak Chopra’s, The Book of Secrets: Secret #12 …… THERE IS NO TIME BUT NOW [Read More / Chime In With Your Comments...]

SPACIOUSNESS CAN LEAD TO PEACE
Posted by Doug on July 4, 2009
Spaciousness which includes love for all mankind can lead to Peace. Possibly the most awesome moment for the astronauts, for mankind and human spaciousness, could have been what they experienced thousands of miles in space, looking out the window of their shuttle, both the grandeur and vastness of the heavens and the magnificence of our home, their home, earth! What a breath taking moment that must have been! How could they not have a deep sense of wonder and gratitude from this moment, for their lives and for a sense of mankind’s history, destiny and earthly unity. If we could see ourselves from this perspective each day I believe that we could not help but work toward oneness and peace. How would they have felt from that perspective if [Read More / Chime In With Your Comments...]
Unconditional Love Brings Us Both Joy and Peace!
Posted by Doug on June 9, 2009
Many of the following ideas come from a highly recommended book, "Will War Ever End" by Captain Paul K. Chappell. “A fire does not extinguish a fire, so evil cannot extinguish evil. Only goodness, meeting evil and not infected by it, conquers evil. That this is so is in man’s spiritual world an immutable law comparable to the law of Galileo.” Leo Tolstoy We all need to become active soldiers for peace or as Edmund Burke and others who followed him would say. “All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good (men) people to do nothing.” In the 5th Century BC Socrates said, “I am not an Athenian or Greek, but a citizen of the world.” We have moved from becoming Independent to the knowledge and awareness th [Read More / Chime In With Your Comments...]

THIS MEMORIAL DAY THE PRESIDENT MADE REFERENCE TO BELLS!
Posted by Doug on May 25, 2009
President Obama suggested we say a prayer and ring a bell to honor those who have die so that we might be free… Andy Rooney of "60 Minutes" asked and I paraphrase, "Why is there more bravery in war than in peace? We need to find some new way to take war out of our lives. When we will be able to celebrate Memorial Day as a day not to remember the dead but as a day in which we saved so many who would have died, then we truly will have a Memorial Day that honors Peace. When will a religion or new way of thinking come about so that we can Celebrate this day as a day of peace?" We need to sound the call for Peace and Freedom by ringing bells around the World daily drowning out those cries and feelings of ange [Read More / Chime In With Your Comments...]
CONSEQUENCES AS MEN OF IRAN PLAY WITH BOYS TOYS?
Posted by Doug on May 24, 2009
As we experience the blooming of spring in many parts of the United States and the West with a sense of comfort and serenity this will create a false sense of security. As nature quickly awakens we need to understand that many people in the world are suffering from starvation, epidemic sicknesses, rebellious deaths, fear in the face of terrorism and uneasiness because of the global economic situation. Added to that Iran just successfully launched a medium range rocket with capabilities of adding WMD in the very near future and you have a world moving away from peace and more and more toward calamity. What is Iran really trying to do and why? All religions in some form practice the law of love which is so tied to natural moral law. Why does [Read More / Chime In With Your Comments...]
TIMOTHY GALLWEY AND THE INNER GAME RING A BELL!
Posted by Doug on May 7, 2009
On this National Day of Prayer Tim Gallwey’s books on the inner game ring a bell! What is prayer but that inner game of life, that connection with the infinite side of self, the soul. Most people in competitive sports as in any life mastery would tell you that the inner game, our inner life is what separates the real winners from the rest of the pack. In those inner quiet movements of our souls we can all rise to the occasion and be whole, our true self, personal winners. For prayer and meditation put us in that special quiet stillness where all creation begins. Stillness, by getting rid of the noise and useless chatter, brings to life and focus what is truly important. Love of self and love of neighbor as our self will lead us to servi [Read More / Chime In With Your Comments...]
CHANGE AND A NEW DIRECTION REQUIRE COURAGE
Posted by Doug on May 6, 2009
To Ring in Peace will require thinking outside the box. To Ring in Peace will require courage, patience and a world view of fraternity and unity which is so contrary to the powers that be who want to maintain control, who want to manage mankind for their own gain and profit. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul, Mark 8:36. Life, even if it be 100 years or more, is still too, too short to live just for oneself. By giving service to others we will not only be rewarded more deeply but this reward will bring us lasting Peace. PEACE IS FLOWING LIKE A RIVER
Posted by Doug on April 20, 2009
Yes there is a flow to Peace. We need to capture this movement deep within and ride it as often as possible. Rivers like humans have many interesting dimensions. On top most rivers are very active and energized, the surface current is fast and restless. In the middle of a river the current is more controlled and when we reach the bottom the motion of the water has little or no effect just before bedrock. Here the motion is still and calm. Our minds are like that river were we can and often are frantically going with the current, somewhat out of control as the world sweeps us along. We can also become more in control by living and working in the middle of the river, not be obsessed by not having enough time or with getting thin [Read More / Chime In With Your Comments...]
