PEACE PILGRIM’S BEATITUDES
Posted by Doug on July 21, 2008
Blessed are they who give without expecting even thanks in return, for they shall be abundantly rewarded.
Blessed are they who translate every good thing they know into action, for ever higher truths shall be revealed unto them.
Blessed are they who do God’s will without asking to see results, for great shall be their recompense.
Blessed are they who love and trust their fellow beings, for they shall reach the good in people and receive a loving response.
Blessed are they who have seen reality, for they know that not the garment of clay but that which activates the garment of clay is real and indestructible.
Blessed are they who see the change we call death as a liberation from the limitation of this earth-life, for they shall rejoice with their loved ones who make the glorious transition.
Blessed are they who after dedicating their lives and thereby receiving a blessing, have the courage and faith to surmount the difficulties of the path ahead, for they shall receive a second blessing.
Blessed are they who instead of trying to batter down the gates of the kingdom of heaven approach them humbly and lovingly and purified, for they shall pass right through.
DOES THIS REALLY RING A BELL?
Posted by Doug on July 20, 2008
The way to power is through peace and the way to peace is through silence.
I do think that this is often a lesson wives try to communicate to their husbands mothers to their children etc. but they are not silent enough to hear it. What do you think?
RING A WARNING BELL! WE CANNOT KILL OR CAPTURE OUR WAY TO VICTORY (OR PEACE)
Posted by Doug on July 18, 2008
Our nation (all nations) will become a little wiser, a little less racist, a little more humble, a little more good-hearted and unified and respectful, one conversation at a time, one person at a time.
U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates, issuing a stark warning against U.S. over reliance on military responses, to the detriment of diplomacy: “America’s civilian institutions of diplomacy and development have been chronically undermanned and underfunded for far too long — relative to what we traditionally spend on the military, and more importantly, relative to the responsibilities and challenges our nation has around the world.” One again ring a warning bell that we need to change the way we understand, work and deal with others around the world. There are no quick fixes, no shortcuts to unity and fraternity and it must begin at home, with ourselves.

A NATIVE AMERICAN PRAYER
Let us know peace.
For as long as the moon shall rise,
For as long as the rivers shall flow,
For as long as the sun will shine,
For as long as the grass shall grow,
Let us know peace…….From the Cheyenne
MILLENNIUM RANG IN “COLLECTIVE CULTURAL NIGHT”!
Posted by Doug on July 16, 2008
This cultural crisis is humanity’s dark night at the beginnings of the third millennium, a time which contains enormous potential yet grave dangers. This conflict puts East against West, Rich against Poor, elite against the masses. This situation pits governments that are democratic with separation of church and state and countries governed, like in the Middle Ages by Religious Clerics, Mullahs and Priests, which the West finds difficult to accept. This along with totalitarian states in which life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are foreign to most of its citizens create a communication problem with Western principles. But here in the USA the situation can be a cultural problem. Two valedictorians who wanted to thank their parents with one sentence in German and Vietnamese, the language of their native countries had problems with the powers that be who wanted to keep these ceremonies only in English. These students wanted to express gratitude to their parents for immigrating to the United States. When some American teenagers barely speak proper English and the job market is going to require bilingual abilities to mandate that we speak only English is not only paranoia but narrow mindedness. In a world were English is the third most spoken language behind Mandarin and Spanish our teenagers will be at a great disadvantage in the global job market if they come up against someone who speaks two or three languages. Don’t we need to develop an understanding of other cultures to be able to promote freedom and peace? Knowing others cultural mores, especially their language is a good first step.

BELLS: SOUNDS OF PEACE, SOUNDS OF OUR SOURCE?
Posted by Doug on July 8, 2008
The Bell is the instrument closely connected to peace, to the infinite. Its ringing breaks the stillness and through its slow decay brings us back to silence, back to awareness, inner peace & back to our Source, God!

According to a study of 52 nations it was determined that Denmark is the worlds happiest place to live. This is attributed to their peace and prosperity. The United States was 16th on the list and Zimbabwe the unhappiest according to this World Values Survey funded by the United States. University of Michigan political scientist, Ronald Inglehart, who directed the study remarked, “I strongly suspect there is a strong correlation between peace and happiness.”
BELLS RING ON THIS 4TH OF JULY! AMERICA CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE IN AN INTERDEPENDENT WORLD!
Posted by Doug on July 4, 2008
We are truly grateful as Americans for this rich blessings and bountiful land, this land of freedom, that has been our home. However, today more than ever, in this interdependent world with its many new and interesting challenges, we need to have, as our founding fathers, the courage, creativity and wisdom to begin, one step at a time, one person at a time, the real changes that will set the ground work for a better world for our children and grandchildren. We need to renew our actions and restrain from wanting to have it all immediately which often leaves us bankrupt. Let the way to become a millionaire with the entrepreneurial spirit of vision, knowledge, hard work and saving be the example we set for those to follow. If we do this we will continue to be a world leader in innovation and freedom which many in turn pave the way to world peace.
