Peace Comes, Through The Little Unseen Things We Do
Posted by Doug on September 30, 2008
We cannot do great things on this Earth, only small things with great love. Mother Teresa
Nothing you do really gets unnoticed even though most of what we do is part of our “hidden life” . Who sees us in much of our ordinary, daily activities; driving to work, doing laundry, cleaning the house, garage etc. sharing a kind word or thought with a stranger, a friend, writing, homework, shopping, playing, or bearing up with an illness or some other annoying limitation. It is how we do these little things well, in acceptance and the spirit of peace, harmony and love, doing them and trying to foster this spirit, that eventually comes to the surface. These abundant private moments prepare us for those significant times when we are on the stage of life, where many people see us for who and what we are and have become, it is those moments when we can brings peace to others. Little things done well is how we serve and love ourselves and how we eventually bring peace, love and service to others and to the world around us.
Mother Teresa’s words resonate and ring a bell here also.
It is not how much we do,
but how much love we put in the doing.
It is not how much we give,
but how much love we put in the giving .
Ringing In World Peace Day… Shouldn’t This Be Every Day?

You are here to enable the divine purpose of the universe to unfold. That is how important you are! Eckhart Tolle, "The Power if Now"
Today is a special day, a Day We Celebrate The International Day Of Peace. But why is this only one day, why are our efforts so meager on the most important human need after our physical needs are met?. Why is it that the awareness of this day captures few headlines? Why is it that Peace Packs and Peace Accords are such unusual events rather than a constant, necessary activity? What else is so important that peace always takes a back seat? It’s all about US!, ME! I am the important one. But when we take on that position the only persons that thinks you are special is you, yourself. When we place others first they almost naturally will think so different of us, they may even feel you are important, special and someone to get to know and like. Let us with patience hold dear and constant our creative service of others and they will be creative and of service in return, if not immediately possibly after some time seeing and experiencing our example.
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens (a thoughtful individual) can change the world, indeed it is the only thing that ever has." Margaret Meade
Prelude to World Peace Day 6 Billion + agents for World Peace.
Posted by Doug on September 20, 2008
Today there are over 6 billion agents for world peace. Yes that means each one of us has the DNA, the internal mechanism to make world peace a possibility. Most of us are unaware don’t believe, know, or accept how powerful each individual is and therefore we don’t take responsibility for this reality.
Billion Bells For Peace, Peace Pals, and thousands of other world peace organizations have formed to bring this awareness, understanding and realization in way that could resonate within each individual. Peace will only happen when a majority of human beings actualize this realization reaching a tipping point and thereby possibly creating this Pandemic For Peace. Today because more and more individuals know that we are now an interdependent world, one global family, this ideal is gaining momentum.
It is becoming a do or die reality understanding that humankind is coming closer to the cross roads of extinction or unity. We here at BBFP only hope that our message is helping to create a climate for positive change. We are all victims of a historically unnatural position of sacristy and defensiveness verses the most natural down deep condition for each of us of abundance and love. Becoming positive beings filled with gratitude and acceptance of who we are will bring us peace within, with others and with the world. The courage to move toward quiet stillness will help us access this inner reality in a constantly and ever changing world. Let us pray that, as we become more and more grounded in being vs doing, we as human beings will realize that this is our true nature, human beings not human doings. May Peace Prevail Upon The Earth as we come closer to Ringing in Unity!
LIFE IS LIKE TENNIS, THEY WHO SERVE WELL, WIN!
Posted by Doug on September 16, 2008
Yes, life is like tennis, they who serve well, win! Maybe that is why there are so many big losers on Wall Street and the corporate world. Why there are so may little losers in Washington these days. Most of these people, especially the leaders, are only out to serve one person, themselves. This is a great way to lose it all. Human life value is the most important source of wealth says Garrett Gunderson. In his bk. Killing Sacred Cows, overcoming the Financial Myths that are Destroying your Prosperity (our prosperity) we can live with a mind set toward sacristy or abundance. When we live a mind set of abundance our primary focus is to lift, serve and bless the lives of others. You feel happy when others succeed-even those who may be viewed as your competition-and you never feel threatened by others. You’re able to work with others to achieve things you couldn’t do alone. You take full responsibility for your life and your work….
If each of us does the above I am sure that we will be on the high road to World Peace. This Sunday, the 21st of September is The International Day of Peace . Prepare yourself for that day today by helping others and thereby helping yourselves. Another well known motivational speaker has said, "Help others get what they want and they will help you get what you want". Zig Zigler
I’m sure down deep in our DNA we are all programed to love, and be loved, yearning for the Freedoms that bring us true Peace, that bring true peace to others and to the world.
RING IN PEACE BUILDING!

The following is taken from this site (http://internationaldayofpeace.org) which we invite you to visit and begin to participate in your creative action!
Here is a quote from a young student who understands… Peace-Building
"Peace is not the absence of war; it is respecting and accepting each other and promoting human rights." — Miss Nida Ashfaq, International Young Catholic Students (IYCS), Pakistan
We are all part of the creativity of mankind or we all need to be if our most important human needs, freedom & peace (as opposed to our animal needs: air, food, water and shelter) are to be addressed and fulfilled. The following taken from the above web site certainly gives us (me) a richer understanding of this creative process.
Peacebuilding is different from "peacemaking" and "peacekeeping " in that it focuses on creating a long-term culture of peace, (a culture of life) rather than solving existing conflicts or preventing old ones from re-occurring. Peacebuilding activities aim at building understanding and tolerance between individuals, communities and societies and establishing new structures of cooperation. Peacebuilding activities range in scale from personal acts of kindness toward others to global inter-governmental programs.
So ringing bells daily understanding peace begins within and ringing bells monthly realizing we are all united is one of many creative ways toward foster this crucial need of humanity an action fostered by this years Olympic Committee, One World, One Dream. So do it!
