RING IN PEACE! RENOUNCE YOUR OLD PERCEPTIONS NOT YOUR POSSESSIONS
Posted by Doug on February 22, 2009
There are gross and subtle levels of every experience. The subtle levels are more sensitive, awake and meaningful than the gross. *
Observe within yourself these examples and see how they make you feel.
To love someone is subtler than to resent or push the person away.
To accept someone is subtler than to criticize the individual.
To promote peace is subtler than to promote anger and violence.
To see someone without judgement is subtler than to criticize the person.
If you let yourself feel the subtler side I believe you will find it deceases stress, restless thinking and emotional pressure. Subtle experience is quiet and harmonious, you are not in conflict with anyone. There is no overblown drama or even the need for it.
Is this easy? No! But is it rewarding? Yes! For renouncing our old perceptions requires silence, faith, love and service which will lead us to be at peace and spread peace
THE FRUIT OF SERVICE IS PEACE

This seems to be what Wall Street missed!!
"The fruit of silence is prayer, the fruit of prayer is faith, the fruit of faith is love, the fruit of love is service, the fruit of service is peace."

PEACE PILGRIM BEATITUDES, PART V

Blessed are they who after dedicating their lives and thereby receiving a blessing, have the courage and faith to surmount the difficulties of the path ahead, for they shall receive a second blessing.
Blessed are they who advance toward the spiritual path without the selfish motive of seeking inner peace, for they shall find it.
Blessed are they who instead of trying to batter down the gates of the kingdom of heaven approach them humbly and lovingly and purified, for they shall pass right through.

Blessed are they who have seen reality, for they know that not the garment of clay but that which activates the garment of clay is real and indestructible.
Blessed are they who see the change we call death as a liberation from the limitation of this earth-life, for they shall rejoice with their loved ones who make the glorious transition.

Blessed are they who do God’s will without asking to see results, for great shall be their recompense.
Blessed are they who love and trust their fellow beings, for they shall reach the good in people and receive a loving response.

IN THE MIDST OF TERRORISM A SPARK OF PEACE RINGS OUT!

We are all one in the midst of many.
In September, a Palestinian suicide bomber detonated his explosives on a crowded bus in Tel Aviv.
19 year old Jonathan Jesner, a student from Glasgow, Scotland, was one of the victims. Jesner, a Jew had postponed medical school to participate in a religious retreat and after being wounded in the blast died later in the day along with five others. The young man’s family volunteered to donate Jonathan’s organs, and to place no restrictions whatsoever on the choice of recipients. Jeners kidney was later transplanted into a seven year old Palestinian girl named Yasmin. This girl suffered from a genetic disease and waited for this transplant for two year. She now is doing very well.
“We believe it was what Jonathan wanted us to do…the girls religion and nationality were unimportant…the most important principle here is that life was given to another human being. We are happy and delighted that Jonathan’s memory will live on.”
This wonderful family possessed a God like vision that realizes the holiness of our Creator within every man, woman and child, a vision of humanity that sees deeper that the externals of race, nationality, culture and language to behold the life of this Creator animating the lives of all who draw a breath. We are all challenged to embrace our Maker in all His/Her goodness and love without reservations, without rationalizations or hesitations. May we embrace this vision of creation and recognize every human as the manifestation of God’s life and love in our midst.

But the true world commodity is PEOPLE not things. Only people are of true value
Fighting Poverty To Build Peace “Despite so many efforts, the peace we so desire still remains distant! Faced with this reality, we must not grow discouraged or lessen our commitment to a culture of authentic peace, but rather redouble our efforts on behalf of security and development.” Pope Benedict XVI
Giving new hope to the poor is a key to building peace among people.
No person is exempt from doing his or her part to build a peaceful world.

Peace emanates from the one who sows love and transforms this love into action.
Works of love are always works of peace; where love abides there abides peace.
Peace begins with a smile. Smile each day at five persons whom you would no want to smile at. Do it for the sake of peace. Mother Teresa of Calcutta
