WAKE UP CALL! PEACE IMPERATIVE AS YEAR END EVENTS UNFOLD

Posted by Doug on December 28, 2009

We can bury our heads in the sand or we can understand and view with clarity, that we, the peoples of the world, need to develop a keen awareness that climate change is happening, Iran and North Korea are up to no good, men are being used as pawns to blow up the infidel (us) as the true and evil infidel, those in power against us are continually plotting to destroy all that is good in the name of their distorted image of God.

If al-Qaida is planning 24/7 to harm us we need to work 24/7 daily toward peace by drowning this depraved movement in an abundance of good and by using all just means to eliminate this scourge of mankind.

We can not go against natural moral law on climate change and survive just as these movements which may have many more successes can not go against it and prevail. This is truly a struggle of good against evil and the only way we can be victorious is by being truly holy, sacred and “One” in vision, purpose and action.

CLIMATE CHANGE SITUATION CERTAINLY CALLS FOR UNITY

This season is a time that we understand and appreciate our most necessary and precious gifts of the earth for food, clean air and water and share these gifts with those who are less fortunate than we. But in doing so solving this problem will require people to live a life of “sobriety and solidarity….. for it is becoming more and more evident that the issues of environmental degradation challenges us to examine our lifestyles and the prevailing models of consumption and production. Protecting the natural environment in order to build a world of peace is a duty incumbent upon each one of us”. Pope Benedict XVI

PEACE ON EARTH, GOOD WILL TO ALL!

A Christmas Greeting I would like to share with you:
When the song of the angels is stilled,When the star in the sky is gone,

When the Kings and Princes are home,

When the shepherds are back with their flocks,

The work of Christmas Begins.

To find the lost,

To heal the broken.

To feed the hungry,

To release the prisoner,

To rebuild the nations,

To bring peace among people,

To make music in the heart.

(Text from THE MOOD OF CHRISTMAS by Howard Thurman)

PEACE POSTS OF THE DAY

Posted by Doug on December 12, 2009

In 2010 we will begin a new daily service called either our “One A Day Post For Peace”  or Daily Peace Post.

We hope you will find them fruitfull, meaningful and interesting. The following are two samples

Peace demands the most heroic labor and the most difficult sacrifice. It demands greater heroism than war. It demands greater fidelity to the truth and a much more perfect purity of conscience. Thomas Merton. The more you sweat in peace the less you bleed in war. Admiral Rickover US Navy Retirement Speech 1983

President Obama Noble Prize / Third Anniversary of Billion Bells

Posted by Doug on December 10, 2009

Although we have had a brief hiatus in writing these post we find this day, our third anniversary of Billion Bells For Peace, to be a splendid day to once again begin posting for peace.

On this Universal Declaration of Human Rights Day it was most fitting for President Obama’s address in Oslo, Norway as he accepted the prize and spoke about peace in the context of a "Just War", a necessary war, in order to create world peace, a world more free from terrorists. Also we recently discovered that Church bells are to ring the climate alarm as faith joins science in Denmark.

This crucial United Nations meeting began on Dec. 7 to set the international agenda on climate, so that the city can live with the nickname of "Hopenhagen" that it has been given by one group of campaigners.

Churches will chime in with their main attempt to awaken the world about the need to look after the planet, by sounding their bells or other instruments 350 times at 3 p.m. wherever they are.

The 350 chimes represent the parts per million that mark what many scientists say is the safe upper limit for carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
